Transparency International is a global civil society organization leading the fight against corruption. Transparency International Turkey (TI-Turkey) -the Turkey chapter of Transparency International- is currently seeking to fill the role of Senior Researcher.
Based on the Projects Team, The Senior Researcher will:
- Undertake necessary research on topics relevant to assigned projects and maintain familiarity with available information sources
- Undertake writing and editing to develop high-quality reports, papers, content, etc.
- Develop a sound knowledge of and keep up-to-date with relevant publications/research developments in key policy areas, both nationally and internationally
- Carry out literature reviews (peer-reviewed and grey literature), interpreting, synthesizing, and presenting findings to a high- standard to support dissemination to internal and external stakeholders
- Carry out desk research on specific topics to provide input supporting the development of new proposals, concept notes, briefing notes, reports, etc.
- Contribute to the overall functioning of the team by providing proactive and ad hoc support where necessary
- Ability to prioritize work and define steps needed to achieve specified project outcomes.
- Proofreading and copy-editing skills
- Creating and managing databases of important research, experts, etc.
- Preparation of presentations for various meetings from a master presentation of slides
Candidate Profile
- Masters or equivalent in a relevant field of the social sciences, such as political science, law, sociology, economics, public administration, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience as a researcher and writer
- Substantive knowledge and experience in NGOs, international organizations and how civil society works for policy development and advocacy
- Extensive experience in research and project coordination in a multi-country/international settings, project development, and management (particularly the EU projects)
- Strong project management and/or product development experience who is able to work with little supervision
- Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to successfully manage priorities in a dynamic and fast-changing environment
- A commitment to Transparency International’s core values: Transparency, Accountability, Integrity, Solidarity, Courage, Justice, and Democracy.
- Professional language proficiency in written and spoken English and Turkish (additional languages an asset)
- Solid writing, editing, communication, and networking skills and advanced knowledge of Office Programs
