We are proud to have organized the first Transparency Summer School in Turkey.
Please take a moment to look at how our Summer School went https://youtu.be/isWsQIjVIBA
The summer school took place at the Sabancı University between 1st and 8th of August. The main objective is awareness raising for transparency, integrity, accountability, participatory and inclusive decision making, and to boost demand for good governance from every segment of society, especially from the university students.
750 students all around the country applied to be a part of the Transparency Summer School. 45 of them could be selected in this pilot project. Students from 30 universities, 17 cities and academic disciplines came together for this amazing experience. This rich diversity made all interactions and discussions, in and outside the class, fruitful and highly informative. The students had the opportunity to participate in classes regarding transparency, accountability and integrity in private, civil and public sectors. Movie screenings, q&a sessions and group discussions enriched the experience throughout the week.
It was also a wonderful week for us as an organisation, having the chance to meet university students from different backgrounds and communities, learning from their experiences, creativity and dynamism. They are our first graduates and partners in the fight against corruption. We will continue our relationship with the graduates of the first Transparency Summer School by visiting their universities, organizing transparency talks as their guests, and assisting them to initiate Transparency Student Clubs. Each year, the demand for good governance will grow as the Transparency Summer School graduate network grows.
We would like to thank our graduates for taking part in the first Transparency Summer School, and also our funders and partners, the Swedish Consulate and the Sabancı University.
Looking forward to the next year’s program!
